Demotech – www.demotech.com – is the most popular go to source for rating the financial stability/ability to pay claims of title insurance underwriters. They are like Moody’s or Standard & Poor for title insurers. Demotech assigns ratings to underwriters based on their financial analysis taking into account many factors. Just go to their site and type in any underwriter’s name on the left side; click on that company; and you’ll get their Demotech rating.
